There are some news about my Metawatch:
1. New Firmware
There are two newer firmware version for the Metawatch, that are newer than my 0.8.0: the 0.8.2 that is suggested by the folks in the Metawatch forum, but also the experimental 0.9.x.
I installed the 0.8.2. To do this you load the file from Github. Please click the file and select “Raw” on the next page. Afterwards you can go on using the Metawatch-Flash Guide. By doing this I find out, that you have to be patient on Win7 with the FET-Pro430 software. Let it show “Not responding” until it comes back after a few minutes. Reset afterwards!
2. GMail-Problems
One thing I am not comfortable with is the notification about new emails on Gmail. I did only get information, that a new mail arrived in my account and not the subject or part of the message. Nicer is the SMS notification. At the Metawatch-Forum I got the advice to install K9. The results look promising: Sender, subject and part of the message are displayed.
